Where can I stay in/around Cannes during film festival (last min.)?

- May 10th to 25th (but dates are flexible as long as I’m there during the festival)
- Looking for a nice hotel in Cannes (if you can recommend somewhere you’ve stay previously, that would be great!)
- OR in a neighboring city.. as long as its easily accessible by train or public transport

I am going to give you some very sound advice, during the film festival period hotel prices rocket – it is virtually think of a number – double it and add 100%. It’s that bad, my advice is to stay somewhere like Antibes, Juan les Pins, Vallauris, Mougins or the likes – you will reduce your accommodations costs by 60% compared with Cannes. Looking at my contact lists for Cannes – May2010 – there is virtually nothing available, even the Mercure – a 2 star establishment has nothing available between 9th – 17th. Outside of those dates they are looking for 192 Euros a night for a double/twin room – without breakfast.

Transport links in the area are pretty good, a regular train service from Antibes and Juan les Pins and regular local buses from Vallauris and Mougins

Best Hotel: Contemporary Hotel – right on the monorail, easy for transportation to all theme parks. Look for a book called Birnbaums’s Walt Disney World ($11.53 on Amazon.com). Yes their is transportation – Disney’s Magical Express from Orlando International to your hotel. Tickets depend on how long you stay. The longer you stay the cheaper the price per day is to attend the parks.

prob get by nicely on $100 a day. use ihop for good quality food or dennys. petrol at the moment is around $2.79 £1.35 ish if you work out the exchange rate of 2 bucks to the pound.

can a minor stay in a hotel alone?

a fifteen year old to stay in a hotel in Visalia, CA. probably a motel, rather than hotel.
i’m not positive on whether they would be able to stay alone or not, even with it being booked by a parent or something. i don’t know. need help asap.

I think that since this is being done with parental support, they may allow it, but you should check first before just walking in.

You are getting close to 4Th of July. Rates are going to be going up. Best room rate you are going to run into is probably in the $55 range but most are $65 and way up. Red Carpet is probably the cheapest. Ocean point is on the water and $65.
Rent your car on line and look for promotional deals. Sometimes a week will cost less than a day if you get the right promotion. I have not found that much difference in Airport rentals vs city rentals. You have a better selection at the airport usually.

Chamrajpet is around 4kms from Hotel Mourya, race course road. If you are looking for public transport you could use BMTC buses or by auto. Auto will cost around Rs.30/-
